On 7 June 2026, a constructive meeting was held with Minister Jack Chambers TD to discuss the ongoing delays affecting spouse visa applications for Pakistani nationals.
The meeting provided an important platform for affected applicants from across Ireland to share their personal experiences directly with one of the Government’s senior ministers. Participants highlighted the significant challenges caused by prolonged processing times, including family separation, emotional distress, and uncertainty faced by applicants and their loved ones.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who travelled from different parts of the country to attend the meeting and openly share their stories. Their contributions helped provide valuable insight into the real-life impact of visa processing delays on families within our community.
During the discussion, Minister Jack Chambers acknowledged the concerns raised by attendees and assured participants that he would bring the matter to the attention of the Department of Justice. He also requested that Asad Ali, who coordinated the engagement, forward information relating to affected applicants to assist in addressing the issues raised.
AIPPS remains committed to supporting the Pakistani community in Ireland by facilitating constructive dialogue with policymakers and advocating for fair, transparent, and timely processing of immigration matters that affect families.
We thank Minister Jack Chambers TD, Asad Ali, and all participants for their engagement and contribution to this important discussion.
